Why These Tools

An IP address is just 32 bits. Those bits carry a surprising amount of meaning. 192.168.1.1 is private under RFC 1918, non-routable on the public internet, Class C, and its four octets read C0:A8:01:01 in hex. The IPv4 / IPv6 Address Validator & Info unpacks all of that from a single paste, including the 32-bit integer that socket libraries pass to the kernel.

The subnet calculator, CIDR tools and DNS record reference are next in this category. Each one answers the same question: what does this network string really mean, and where are its boundaries? They run entirely in the browser, so no server logs the addresses you check.
