Keyword Density

Paste any comma-separated, tab-separated, semicolon-separated or pipe-delimited text and get a formatted table back. The tool reads your first line as column headers, splits every subsequent line on the detected delimiter, and renders the result as a Markdown pipe table, an HTML <table>, or a clean TSV. Choose Markdown, HTML, or TSV before copying.

The lead sample loads a five-column API-metrics CSV: the first row is id,service,p99_ms,error_rate,region and the four data rows represent microservices with latency and error-rate figures. Clicking Load Sample again cycles to a shipping-container dataset and then a river-gauge time series, each with different column counts to exercise the alignment controls.

Getting Started: Converting Your First CSV

  1. Paste delimited text into the input box, or press Load Sample to populate it with a real dataset. The detected delimiter label appears next to the Delimiter row.
  2. Choose an output format: Markdown for README files and wikis, HTML for CMS editors and web pages, or TSV to paste into Google Sheets or Excel.
  3. If the first row is data rather than headers, switch First Row to Is Data. The tool will auto-generate column names col1, col2 and so on.
  4. Click any column chip under Column Alignment to cycle it through left, center, and right. The live preview and the Markdown separator row both update instantly.
  5. Press Copy to put the output on the clipboard. The stats bar below shows row count, column count, detected delimiter, and output character count.

What It Accepts and How Parsing Works

  • Delimiter detection counts occurrences of comma, tab, semicolon and pipe in the first two lines and picks the most frequent. Force a specific one with the Delimiter chips if auto-detect picks the wrong character.
  • Quoted fields are supported: a cell wrapped in double quotes may contain the delimiter character or a newline without breaking the row. Two consecutive quotes inside a quoted field are treated as a literal ".
  • Ragged rows (lines with fewer columns than the header) are padded with empty cells so the table never breaks.
  • Validation messages: if only one column is detected the tool shows "Only 1 column detected with X as delimiter — try a different delimiter above." Input over 500 rows is refused with "Input has N rows — the maximum is 500."
  • The preview renders at most 6 data rows so long CSVs remain readable; the full output is always written to the text area.
