Add a solid, double, dashed or certificate frame to every page of a PDF, in your own colour, thickness and margin, without uploading the file.
A certificate, a menu, a title page or a school assignment all look unfinished without something holding the edge. Word and Acrobat both bury page borders behind a paywall or a settings maze, so this PDF Page Border Generator does the one job instead: pick a frame from 44 of them, recolour it, and draw it onto the pages you choose.
Your file is read in this browser and never sent anywhere. Frames are drawn over the existing page content rather than onto a flattened picture of it, so text stays selectable, links keep working, and nothing is re-compressed.
Search runs over names and keywords, so typing flower finds Floral Vine and Floral Frame even though neither word is in the category name. Thirty of the 44 frames are two-tone: the picker lights up Colour 2 for those and leaves it dimmed for the rest, which is the quickest way to tell which artwork has a second layer to recolour.
Margins are measured to the middle of the stroke, not its outer edge, because that is the line PDF drawing operators stroke along. A 6 pt border at a 28 pt margin therefore puts its outermost ink 25 pt from the page edge. That also sets the floor, and asking for less is refused rather than silently clipped: “The left margin is 1 pt, under half the 6 pt line — that edge would hang off the page. Use at least 3.0 pt.” The four sides are linked by default; unlink them for a wider gutter. Everything is in points, 72 to the inch, which is what PDF itself uses, so the millimetre figure under the boxes is the conversion rather than the source.
The preview is not an impression of the result. The thumbnail, the big canvas and the written PDF all consume the same geometry, so what you see is what lands in the file. Step through with Prev and Next and any page outside your selection shows itself untouched, which is the fastest way to confirm a range like 1-3, 5 caught what you meant. Mixed-size documents are measured per page, so an A4 body with one A3 foldout gets an even margin on both. Rotated pages need no special handling, because a margin equal on four sides stays equal however the page is turned. Two real limits: the ceiling is 100 MB, and a password-protected file is refused up front rather than part way through.
