Dutch sits between English and German in word-length distribution: longer than English on average, shorter than German. That middle-ground density makes Dutch placeholder text a useful stress test for designs targeting multiple Western European markets — a layout that handles Dutch well almost always handles English and French too.

The pool draws from everyday Dutch vocabulary with ij sequences and common umlaut words. All four output modes are available. Nothing is uploaded.

Getting Started With Dutch Placeholder Text

  1. Generate 5 Sentences and paste into a card component to check line-clamp and truncation at the 3-line limit.
  2. Generate 8 Words and paste into a navigation label to check the widest expected item at 1280px and 768px viewport widths.
  3. Press Generate a second time without changing settings to test a different word arrangement in the same slot.
  4. Generate 3 Paragraphs and compare the rendered height with the English equivalent.

Accuracy Notes on Dutch Length

  • Dutch text runs 10 to 15 percent longer than English. Plan for this buffer on every fixed-width container before finalising the design.
  • Dutch uses ij as a digraph, sometimes written as the single character ij (U+0133). The pool uses the two-character form, which is covered by all web fonts that include ASCII.

Format Notes for Dutch Output

  • Paragraphs are separated by a blank line in the output, matching the convention most HTML and Markdown renderers expect when the content is pasted into a template.
  • Bullet List items use a plain bullet character (•) with an initial capital and a period. Paste directly into a feature table or a plain-text Figma text layer.
  • The With Emoji toggle inserts 1 emoji every 25 words in Words mode and 1 every 2 sentences in Paragraphs mode from a pool of 28 professional symbols.
