French typography carries conventions that separate professional localisation from a rough translation: non-breaking spaces before colons, semicolons, and question marks; guillemets instead of quotation marks; and tracking that typically runs slightly wider than English at the same point size. None of these surface in Latin lorem ipsum.

The pool draws from everyday French vocabulary with accented characters throughout. All four output modes are available and nothing is uploaded.

Getting Placeholder Text Into a French-Language Interface

  1. Select Sentences (count 1) for a card subtitle or form helper text.
  2. Select Words (count 8) and paste into a navigation item to check the widest realistic label in your menu.
  3. Select Paragraphs (count 3) for article body mocks. French body copy runs roughly 15 to 20 percent longer than English, so compare the rendered height carefully.
  4. Press Copy after each generation — the button writes plain text with no invisible markup to the clipboard.

What Each Accented Character Tests in Your Font

  • The pool uses à, â, é, è, ê, ë, î, ï, ô, ù, û, ü, ç, and œ. Any glyph that renders as a box signals the font is missing coverage for Latin Extended-A (U+0100 to U+017F) or Latin Extended-B.
  • Noto Sans, Source Sans, and most Google Fonts cover the full French character set. Icon fonts and custom subset fonts sometimes drop these accents.

Size and Performance Notes

  • Count is clamped between 1 and 50 for Paragraphs, Sentences, and Bullet List modes, and between 1 and 500 for Words mode. Typing a value directly into the number input bypasses the stepper display limit.
  • Generation is synchronous and takes under 1 millisecond for any count value. There is no debounce or loading state — output appears immediately on every press of Generate.
