Classic Latin placeholder copy has filled design mockups since the 1960s, and this generator draws from the authentic 60-word pool — lorem, ipsum, dolor, sit, amet and their companions — rather than a simplified subset. Every word ships inside the component. Nothing is uploaded. The 20 output options and toggles run entirely in the browser on any device that supports JavaScript, with no debounce delay and no loading state: output appears instantly on every press of Generate.

Sentence length randomises between 5 and 12 words. Paragraph length varies between 3 and 6 sentences, which is enough spread to prevent the uniform block heights that expose machine-generated filler in a design review. Each press of Generate produces a different draw from the same pool without changing any setting, so you can check multiple distributions before finalising container dimensions. Pressing twice is always faster than adjusting count and regenerating.

How to Use the English Generator

  1. Pick Paragraphs, Sentences, Words, or Bullet List from the Generate row.
  2. Set Count. For Paragraphs or Sentences the slider caps at 50; for Words it caps at 500.
  3. Tick Start with “Lorem ipsum…” to prepend the canonical opener; untick it when a client should not recognise the phrase.
  4. Press Generate, then press Copy to write the result to your clipboard instantly.
  5. Press Generate a second time for a different draw from the same settings without changing any controls.

Format Notes for Each Output Mode

  • Paragraphs separates blocks with a blank line, matching the convention most HTML and Markdown renderers expect.
  • Sentences joins output with a single space, making it easy to paste into a one-liner card subtitle or tooltip.
  • Words appends a period after the final word. Set count to the exact token budget your headline slot allows.
  • Bullet List wraps each item in • with an initial capital and a period. Paste directly into a plain-text feature table or a Figma text layer.

When Not to Use Latin Filler

  • RTL layout testing requires the Arabic or Persian generator in this series. Latin characters flow left-to-right and will not expose bidirectional control mirroring issues.
  • CJK glyph-density testing requires the Chinese, Japanese, or Korean generator. Latin characters are roughly half the width of a CJK em-square, so a balanced English paragraph overflows the same box in Chinese.
  • Client presentations where the client may read the filler and flag it as incorrect copy. Switch to Words mode with the opener unticked for less recognisable output.
